ZAGREB, 21 Oct (Hina) - Filming for the fifth season of the popular series 'Outer Banks' began on Monday in Dubrovnik's historic centre, with scenes shot along the main street Stradun and outside the Church of St. Blaise and Sponza Palace.

Some of the main actors of the series, which has gained great popularity among younger audiences, were on set. Interestingly, the set was not fenced off, so random passers-by and tourists became impromptu extras in the scenes.

Dubrovnik's Stradun has thus once again become a film backdrop. Many films have been shot on this famous street, including: The Taste of Violence (1961), Occupation in 26 Pictures (1978), Goya oder Der arge Weg der Erkenntnis (1971), The Pope Must Die (1991), Captain America (1990), The Three Fantastic Supermen (1967), Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017), and Robin Hood (2018).

In 2022, the European Film Academy included Stradun on its list of "Treasures of European Film Culture".
