NNA - UNIFIL’S Italbatt conducts civil and military cooperation activities in various municipalities within its area of responsibility

NNA - As part of the continued support to the local communities, last week ITALBATT conducted some Civil and Military Cooperation activities in various municipalities within its area of responsibility, in order to support the population, improve the relationship with residents, as required to fully implement UNSCRs 1701 and to achieve the assigned mission.
 

An italian Medical Team, provided healthcare services to 39 citizens in Burj Ash Shamali and 31 individuals in Ramadja, including Lebanese men, women, and children. Furthermore, ITALBATT donated a large quantity of clothing to the Tyre Red Cross. The comunity and the Red Cross expressed high satisfaction with the care received. The operation has concluded with the closing ceremony of the self-defense course, conducted and organized by the Italian contingent at the request of the IMAM SANDR Foundation of Tyre, to strengthen women's self-esteem and personal safety and promote gender equality.

ITALBATT contributed to the initiative by providing two soldiers with specific skills for the required techniques. These activities reflect the commitment of ITALBATT, under the command of UNIFIL’s Western Sector in Shamaa, to support the stability and well-being of local communities in southern Lebanon".
