Lusa - Business News - Portugal: 2.3 million visitors welcomed at Expo2025 pavilion in Osaka

Lisbon, Oct. 14, 2025 (Lusa) - Portugal's Pavilion at Expo2025 in Osaka, Japan, which ended on Monday, received more than 2.3 million visitors and generated €4.5 million in the shop and restaurant, the organisation announced on Tuesday.

'Planned and executed by AICEP - Agência para o Investimento e Comércio Externo de Portugal, the Pavilhão de Portugal was a true economic, diplomatic and cultural stage,“ said the organisation, adding that it 'involved 510 national entities and generated €4.5 million in direct turnover through the shop and restaurant”.

In total, ‘400 events were held, with more than 550,000 participants and 210 international delegations from 65 countries’.

Portugal's theme at Expo Osaka was ‘Ocean: Blue Dialogue’.

Expo 2025 kicked off on 13 April and ran until 13 October on the artificial island of Yumeshima, located on the edge of Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
