A promotional event showcasing the Greek tourism product to the Bosnian tourism market was held for the first time in Sarajevo. The event was organised on Thursday, September 25, 2025, by the Greek National Tourism Organisation’s (GNTO) Office in Serbia, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Hellenic Republic in Sarajevo.
Those invited to attend included tour operators, Bosnian travel journalists, a representative of the Ministry of Economy and Tourism of the Sarajevo Canton, airport representatives and a representative of the Sarajevo Tourism Organisation, among others.
At the opening of the event, the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to Sarajevo, Ioanna Efthymiadou, delivered a greeting, expressing her satisfaction at the organisation of such an event for the first time. In the same spirit, the Head of the Economic and Commercial Affairs Office, Iakovos Kollaros, noted that this initiative could serve as a starting point for strengthening tourism cooperation between the two countries.
Subsequently, the Head of the GNTO Office in Serbia, Georgios Kakoutis, gave a presentation on the Greek tourism product. Key points of his presentation included the development of the strategic plan for Greek tourism, an analysis of thematic tourism products by region, as well as the presentation of major infrastructure.
During discussions with participants, the need for a direct connection between the two capitals was emphasised, while strong interest from the Bosnian tourism market in creating holiday packages in Greece was noted.
