ANSA - Piedmont on show with life sciences at Expo 2025 Osaka

Opportunities for research-business offered by Japanese mission

Piedmont's institutional and economic mission to Japan has focused on life sciences as part of the week dedicated to the Region at Expo 2025 Osaka.
Piedmont's delegation has visited Kobe as a guest of the Foundation for Biomedical Research and Innovation.
It will also participate for the first time in Medical Japan in Tokyo.
Meanwhile a round table has been held at the Italy Pavilion's auditorium, organized by bioPmed and Bioindustry Park.
The event was attended by the representatives of Piedmont's and Japan's main clusters and the National Cluster of Life Sciences Alisei.
The debate, moderated by Pietro Presti, a member of the Scientific Committee of Bioindustry Park, placed at the centre the common challenges in the biomedical and biotechnology fields, highlighting the role of ecosystems of innovation as engines of competitiveness and technological transfer.
During the meeting, the Memorandum of Understanding between Osaka Bio Headquarters, bioPmed and Bioindustry Park was presented.
The memorandum is aimed at promoting technological exchanges and reciprocal access to life science markets.
Piedmont's mission to Japan was promoted by the Piedmont Region with Ceipiemonte, the Chamber of Commerce of Turin, bioPmed and Bioindustry Park.
The initiative registered the participation of members of the Kobe Biomedical Innovation Cluster, including Senior Coordinator Takako Yokochi, and of representatives of Piedmont's innovation system, including Councillor Andrea Tronzano, the Director of Ceipiemonte Stefano Nigro and the President of Bioindustry Park Antonio Salvi.
"Life sciences are a strategic asset for Piedmont's industrial policy, with a supply chain integrating research, innovation and productive capability", stated Tronzano, stressing how "the mission to Japan confirms the willingness to place Piedmont within large global ecosystems, creating partnerships that generate new opportunities for growth and technological transfer".
According to the president of Ceipiemonte, Dario Peirone, "innovation, internationalization and the attraction of investments are pillars of Piedmont's strategy".
The cooperation with Bioindustry Park and the participation in Medical Japan, he added, "are fundamental tassels: we are already achieving concrete results with new contacts and opportunities of cooperation".
On October 1-3, Piedmont will take part in Medical Japan, the main Asian fair of the healthcare sector, with a group of six companies that are part of the "Health and Well-being" integrated project of the industry, coordinated by Ceipiemonte.
The presence will boost opportunities of cooperation between Italian and Japanese companies in one of the world's most innovative markets.
