Berlusconi family holding company Fininvest on Thursday finalized the sale of a controlling 80% stake in Serie B soccer club AC Monza to US investment firm Beckett Layne Ventures (BLV), sources said.
The remaining 20% will be sold by June 2026.
The deal reportedly values the club at 45 million euros.
Late ex-premier and media billionaire Silvio Berlusconi took over Monza in 2018 when they were in the third tier.
Under his ownership and the management of Adriano Galliani, the CEO of AC Milan when Berlusconi owned the seven-time European champions, they won promotion to the top flight in 2022.
Their fortunes declined following Berlusconi's death in 2023 and they were relegated last season after finishing bottom of Serie A.
Galliani said that he has turned down on offer to stay on under the new owners.
