Lisbon, Sept. 16, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Tuesday, with the PSI index falling 0.37% to 7,737.97 points, following the negative sentiment experienced among the main European counterparts, with losses of over 1%.
Of the 15 listed companies that make up the national benchmark index, nine fell and six rose this session.
Leading the losses was Jerónimo Martins, which fell 1.48% to €21.26, followed by EDP Renováveis, which fell 0.81% to €9.81 and parent company EDP, which fell 0.78% to €3.83.
Also noteworthy was BCP, which lost 0.75% to €0.71, as well as Mota-Engil, which fell 0.68% to €5.09.
Among the gainers this session were Altri, which advanced 1.41% to €5.02, Ibersol, which gained 1% to €10.1 and Galp Energia, which also rose 1% to €16.21.
In the rest of Europe, Paris fell 1%, Madrid 1.51% and Frankfurt 1.77%, while London fell 0.88%.
Investors are awaiting the meeting of the US Federal Reserve, which is expected to cut interest rates by 25 basis points this Wednesday, according to analysts' expectations.
