Lisbon, Sept. 11, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock exchange closed today up 0.33% to 7,754.89 points, in line with the main European markets, on the day the ECB confirmed that it would maintain interest rates.
Of the 15 listed companies that make up the PSI index, nine rose and five fell, with Semapa remaining unchanged at €17.94.
Mota-Engil led the risers, with its shares rising 4.89% to €5.16, followed by Sonae, which rose 1.56% to €1.31 and Corticeira Amorim, which rose 1.47% to €7.59.
On the loss side, Ibersol stood out, falling 1.40% to €9.86, while EDP Renováveis and Galp also fell 0.75% and 0.50%, respectively, to €9.98 and €15.88.
In the rest of Europe, the trend was identical, with London up 0.78%, Frankfurt 0.30%, Paris 0.80% and Madrid 0.68%.
At today's meeting in Frankfurt, Germany, the ECB Governing Council decided to keep the deposit facility rate at 2.00%, the interest rate on the main refinancing operations at 2.15% and the interest rate on the marginal lending facility at 2.40%.
The decision is in line with analysts' forecasts, which predicted that they would remain unchanged for the time being, but could change by the end of the year.
