Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, George Papanastasiou, pays Milan a three-day working visit this week that includes a series of meetings on energy matters, as well as participation in roundtable discussions at Gastech 2025.
On Tuesday, Papanastasiou will take part in a Ministerial Discussion organised by the Gastech Energy Club High-Level Forum, focusing on "Leveraging energy policy to achieve energy security and sustainability goals," an Energy Ministry press release issued here today said.
On Wednesday, the Minister will join a panel discussion alongside Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, highlighting Cyprus–Egypt energy cooperation and the utilization of natural gas resources within Egypt's Exclusive Economic Zone, entitled “Maximising Egypt's gas resources through value-add”.
During Gastech 2025, Papanastasiou is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with his Egyptian counterpart and the Secretary General of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum, Osama Mobarez. Additionally, he will meet with senior executives from leading energy companies, including TotalEnergies, VTTI, ENI, ExxonMobil, Energean, Arcius Energy, Chevron, and Petronas.
The Minister is expected to return to Cyprus on Thursday.
