Lisbon, July 31, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Thursday, with the PSI index advancing 0.65% to 7,711.92 points, with BCP standing out, rising more than 4%.
Of the 15 companies listed on the PSI, eight rose and seven fell.
BCP led the gains, adding 4.43% to €0.72.
BCP posted a profit of €502.3 million in the first half of the year, up 3.5% on the same period last year, it announced on Wednesday.
During this period, net income from operations in Portugal grew 3.2% to €424 million.
In turn, net income from international operations rose 11.8% to 146.6 million euros.
Also noteworthy were CTT, which rose 1.51% to €7.40, and REN, which rose 1.19% to €2.97.
Gains of less than 1% featured Jerónimo Martins (€21.40), Mota-Engil (€4.49), Sonae SGPS (€1.26), EDP Renováveis (€10.30) and Ibersol (€9.36).
On the other hand, Semapa led the declines, falling 0.92% to €17.16.
Also with changes of less than 1% were Altri (€4.78), EDP (€3.79), Galp (€16.72), NOS (€3.62), Corticeira Amorim (€7.80) and Navigator (€3.10).
Elsewhere in Europe, Paris fell 1.14%, Frankfurt fell 0.81%, and London fell 0.05%, while Madrid rose 0.11%.
