The Italy Pavilion has been hailed as one of the most popular sites and a must-see at Expo 2025 Osaka by the August issue of Nikkei Trendy, the monthly supplement of Japan's leading financial daily Nihon Keizai Shimbun (Nikkei).
The magazine's article said it had "carefully" selected "the five best national pavilions" that could not be missed by visitors, based on the "recommendations of experts and on the newsroom's research".
The Italy Pavilion conquered the top spot, ahead of Turkmenistan and Kuwait.
The magazine reported in particular that "Leonardo da Vinci's drawings and other works of art of great value were among the oeuvres on display" at the Italy Pavilion.
Nikkei Trendy also quoted a visitor identified as Sumire as saying that "these are all oeuvres that we won't be able to see anymore during the course of our lifetime".
Another visitor, Kabu, told the magazine that it was "worth visiting Expo" just to see the Italy Pavilion.
"It comes as no surprise that there are queues to visit it", noted the magazine.
The article followed another report published in mid-July by Yomiuri Shinbun, Japan's leading national newspaper and the best-selling in the world with a daily circulation of nearly 10 million copies.
Yomiuri Shinbun dedicated an entire page to the Italy Pavilion, interviewing the Commissioner General for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka, Mario Vattani.
Over three months after its inauguration, the Italy Pavilion has thus confirmed its role as a leading attraction, as already highlighted at the beginning of June by an online survey published by the magazine Josei Jishin.
