ZAGREB, 26 July (Hina) - Croatia’s total seasonally and calendar-adjusted industrial turnover in May dropped by 3.6% compared with April, but rose by 6.4% year-on-year, the national Bureau of Statistics said on Friday.
A month-on-month comparison shows that industrial turnover fell by 4.4% on the domestic market and by 5.6% on foreign markets.
On an annual level, turnover in May increased by 6.6% on the domestic market and by 2.4% on foreign markets.
According to the main industrial groupings, sales of energy in May were down 33.7% compared with April, while sales of non-durable consumer goods fell by 10.4%. Sales of durable consumer goods decreased by 6.7%, and of intermediate goods by 1.3%, while sales of capital goods increased by 8.8%.
A year-on-year comparison shows a 34% rise in energy sales, a 7.9% rise in capital goods sales, and a 5.9% increase in intermediate goods sales. Meanwhile, sales of durable consumer goods fell by 6.1%, and of non-durable consumer goods by 0.4%.
