Luanda, July 10, 2025 (Lusa) - The Brazilian Norberto Odebrecht Foundation (FNO) will replicate its Integrated and Sustainable Development Programme (PDCIS) in Angola to empower small farmers in the province of Cabinda through technical training, productive inclusion and agricultural innovation.
According to a press release from Odebrecht, a company that has been operating in Angola for 40 years, the FNO, in partnership with Odebrecht Angola and the Agricultural Development Support Fund (FADA), visited 17 communities around the new Cabinda International Airport, marking the internationalisation of the Pdcis, “internationally recognised for its success in promoting sustainable rural development”.
“The experience of the PDCIS, with more than two decades of success in Brazil, will now be the basis for the Produzir para Transformar Vidas project, which aims to empower small Angolan farmers through technical training, productive inclusion and agricultural innovation,” the statement said.
The joint action between FNO, Odebrecht Angola and FADA will create a replicable and sustainable agricultural development model to increase productivity and strengthen food security in Angola, it added.
The joint initiative aims to adapt the social technologies of the PDCIS to the Angolan reality, having identified concrete challenges and opportunities in Cabinda through active listening and field diagnosis, “to transform the lives of local farming families”.
“We are building a bridge between the knowledge accumulated in the Southern Bahia Lowlands and the untapped potential of Cabinda,” said FNO sustainability coordinator Jonas Nogueira.
According to him, this exchange represents more than a technical partnership; it is “a gesture of historical reunion, of giving back and of shared hope”.
FADA advisor Deolinda Almeida considered this collaboration “the beginning of a new cycle of rural development based on integrated solutions aligned with local realities”.
