NNA - US Ambassador to Lebanon Lisa Johnson visited today the Faqra Castle archaeological site in Kfardebian, Keserwan District, where she was received by the Director of the Kfardebian Media and Communications Team, Serge Akiki
During her tour, Ambassador Johnson inspected the site's unique historical landmarks, from the remains of Roman and Byzantine temples to rock carvings and ancient tombs, which stand as a living testament to Kfardebian's cultural and civilizational richness throughout the ages.
Johnson praised the importance of this historical heritage, considering "Faqra Castle" as a tourist and cultural landmark that deserves support and preservation. She pointed to the potential for cooperation in the field of heritage preservation and promoting cultural tourism in Lebanon.
This visit comes within the framework of the US Embassy's interest in supporting local initiatives and encouraging efforts aimed at protecting archaeological sites and promoting sustainable tourism development in various regions.
