ANSA and LANA - the Libyan press agency - have signed a collaboration agreement that provides for the possibility for the partners to use their respective information services for editorial use and to develop joint commercial offers to support the communication of institutions and companies in their respective countries.
The agreement was signed virtually by the director general of LANA, Ibrahim Hadeia Al-Magbri, and the CEO of ANSA, Stefano De Alessandri, in the presence of the Charge d'Affaires of the Libyan Embassy in Rome, Minister Plenipotentiary Abdelrazak Bashir Baraka Marwan, and the Deputy Head of Mission of the Italian Embassy in Tripoli, Counsellor Riccardo Villa, in video connection.
Deputy Head of Mission Riccardo Villa stated: "The geographical, historical and cultural proximity between Italy and Libya is today further enriched by this agreement between the important news agencies ANSA and LANA.
A new bridge to build ties between our peoples, protect freedom of the press and fight disinformation".
For the Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Libya in Italy, Minister Plenipotentiary Abdelrazak Bashir Baraka Marwan "This agreement represents a qualified contribution to the path of bilateral cooperation in the media field, constituting a constructive platform for the exchange of news and information content, with the aim of strengthening mutual understanding and supporting efforts to promote professional information oriented to the common good, based on the values ;;of objectivity and transparency." "This agreement with ANSA is not simply a partnership in the field of news agencies, but reflects the historical and cultural ties that unite the Libyan and Italian peoples", underlined the Director General of LANA, Ibrahim Hadeia Al-Magbri: "At a time when our region faces multiple challenges, responsible journalism stands out as a bridge of communication, trust building and promoting stability".
ANSA CEO Stefano De Alessandri expressed satisfaction with the new agreement reached: "In addition to expanding the availability of news and mutual knowledge between Libya and Italy, this new agreement also constitutes the occasion for the exchange of technological best practices, and a further opportunity for the development of projects to support the communication of institutions and companies of the two countries".
