ANSA - 'Internet saint' Carlo Acutis to be canonised Sep 7 Along with Frassati

Teen 'Internet saint' Carlo Acuti will be canonised on September 7, Pope Leo XIV said at a Consistory Friday.
The canonisation of Acutis, a student from Lombardy who died from leukaemia at the age of 15 in 2006 and became a model of Christian life for many young believers as well as a sort of 'patron saint of the internet', had been put off after Pope Francis's death.
In May of last year Francis said Acutis had qualified to become a saint after another miracle was ratified for him.
The second miracle that has earned him his saint's spurs was the miraculous healing of a young Costa Rican girl.
Acutis has been fast-tracked to sainthood.
Also to be canonised on September 7 is Pier Giorgio Frassati, (1901-1925), an activist dedicated to social justice issues who joined several charitable organizations, including Catholic Action and the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, to better aid the poor and less fortunate living in his hometown of Turin.
