Porto, Portugal, May 26, 2025 (Lusa) - Portuguese civil engineering company Mota-Engil has signed a new contract in Brazil with oil company Petrobras for maintenance, construction and assembly services on offshore oil platforms worth around €250 million, it said in a statement to the market.
In the note, released by the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM), the group said that its subsidiary Empresa Construtora do Brasil "has signed a new contract with Petróleo Brasileiro, S.A. (Petrobras), worth around 1.61 billion reais, equivalent to around €250 million".
According to the company, the new contract will have an estimated duration of 48 months and "is for the provision of maintenance, construction and assembly services on offshore oil platforms".
The contract includes, it said, "the installation of piping, the manufacture and installation of metal structures, boilerwork (opening and closing of vessels, filters, tanks, towers, heat exchangers), the assembly of scaffolding, painting, electrical/instrumentation maintenance and automation".
The company pointed out that this contract "significantly strengthens its order book in Brazil with one of the most important customers in the Oil & Gas sector, to whom it has provided various services in recent years," in a market where the group intends to further strengthen its presence, it concluded.
