Lisbon, May 22, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Thursday, with the PSI index gaining 0.25% to 7,375.78 points, bucking the trend in the rest of Europe. Sonae SGPS stood out, growing 8.70%.
Of the 15 companies listed on the PSI, eight rose, six fell and NOS remained unchanged at €3.83.
Leading the gains was Sonae SGPS, which rose 8.70% to €1.27.
Profits attributable to Sonae shareholders grew 77.2% year-on-year to €43 million in the first quarter of this year, the company announced on Wednesday.
Among the main gains were Ibersol, which rose 2.99% to €9.64, BCP, which rose 1.90% to €0.61, and Navigator, which gained 1% to €3.64.
BCP shares reached a nine-year high today, even after starting the session with a decline of around 3%.
According to Xtb, a break through the €0.68 barrier "could pave the way for a faster appreciation, with the potential to extend to €0.82. On the other hand, in a correction, the main support is in the region of 0.50 euros".
With rises of less than 1% were Altri (€6.21), Jerónimo Martins (€22.02), CTT (€7.27) and REN (€2.88).
On the other hand, EDP Renováveis led the declines, losing 5.26% to €8.55, followed by Corticeira Amorim, which fell 1.65% to €8.35.
With declines of less than 1% were EDP (€3.48), Galp (€13.81), Semapa (€18.42) and Mota-Engil (€4.80).
In the rest of Europe, Paris fell 0.58%, London 0.54%, Frankfurt 0.51% and Madrid 0.25%.
