Lusa - Business News - Angola: Flag carrier announces more regional connections

Luanda, May 20, 2025 (Lusa) - Angolan flag carrier TAAG announced on Tuesday that it is strengthening its air links to major regional routes, with additional flights to Maputo (Mozambique), Cape Town and Johannesburg (South Africa) and Brazzaville (Republic of Congo).

"This decision aims to offer greater flexibility, convenience and connectivity to passengers, responding to growing demand for these destinations and facilitating connections and leisure or business travel between Southern Africa and Central Africa," TAAG said in a statement.

To the Mozambican capital, Maputo, from 4 June, TAAG will offer five weekly flights, one more than previously, with flights on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

Cape Town, South Africa, will increase from nine to ten weekly flights, with twice-daily flights on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, while Johannesburg will increase from seven to nine connections, with twice-daily flights on Thursdays and Saturdays.

The Congolese capital, Brazzaville, will have three weekly flights, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The airline says that this plan is part of the "optimisation of the network and expansion of the company, with a multifaceted impact on sectors such as tourism, local economic development and cultural exchange".
