Lisbon, May 13, 2025 (Lusa) - CTT - Correios de Portugal, the privatised company that runs the country's postal services, has reduced its share capital by €2.31 million through the cancellation of 4.62 million of its own shares, to just short of €67 million, it was announced to the market on Tuesday.
In a statement sent to Portugal's Securities Markets Commission (CMVM), CTT said that the extinguished own shares represent 3.34% of its share capital prior to this cancellation and that they were acquired as part of the share buyback programme that took place between 22 July 2024 and 17 April 2025.
With this reduction operation, the note reads, "CTT's share capital became EUR 66,910,000.00, represented by 133,820,000 shares with a nominal value of fifty cents per share."
The procedures for the cancellation of the shares with Interbolsa and Euronext should be completed on 14 May 2025, or soon thereafter, the statement adds.
CTT shares ended the day's trading on the Lisbon stock market at €6.66, little changed from Monday's close.
