MAP - Morocco's PCNS, China's Academy of Social Sciences Deepen Academic Collaboration

Rabat - April 23, 2025 - (MAP) - Morocco's Policy Center for the New South (PCNS) and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), China's leading academic institution in the field of humanities and social sciences, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Monday in Rabat, with a view to deepen their academic collaboration.

Signed by PCNS Executive President Karim El Aynaoui and CASS President Xiang GAO, in the presence of an official Chinese delegation and members of the PCNS leadership team, the agreement reflects a shared commitment to fostering deeper academic collaboration between Morocco and China, PCNS says in a press release.

The MoU also aims to build stronger bridges between researchers from both institutions on themes such as China, China-Morocco relations and Africa-China studies.

Key areas of cooperation include joint research projects and co-publications, staff exchanges and capacity-building programs, exchange of scientific materials and information, co-organization of thematic seminars and conferences and exploration of new academic partnership formats.

The MoU will remain in effect for an initial period of two years, with the possibility of extension upon mutual agreement, the same source notes, adding that this partnership represents a significant step forward in strengthening academic ties between Morocco and China, and paves the way for sustained and meaningful cooperation in the years to come.
