Lisbon, Jan. 31, 2025 (Lusa) - The Ministry of Economy announced on Friday the opening of applications for the Mini Agendas competition, a measure to support investment in innovation with an initial budget of €149 million.
In a statement, the Ministry said that Compete 2030, along with the Lisbon 2030 and Algarve 2030 Regional Programmes, will launch the first call for proposals today. The call will allow companies to apply for non-refundable support (grants) for integrated research and development projects and productive innovation.
‘These projects should focus on completing the innovation cycle of solutions that have already reached a certain level of maturity, ensuring that they will reach the market,’ he says.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small mid-caps are eligible, but so are large companies, provided they are in consortium with SMEs.
According to the press release, entities from the research and innovation system (ENESII) can also join these consortia.
The call for proposals covers the NUTS II regions of mainland Portugal (North, Centre, Lisbon, Alentejo, and Algarve). Applications can be submitted via the Funds Counter until 30 May.
Under the scope of PT 2030, the Ministry of Economy describes the Mini Agendas as' a simpler, more manoeuvrable and executable version of the traditional RRP [Recovery and Resilience Plan] agendas’.
The aim is to contribute to the reindustrialisation of the Portuguese economy, reinforcing its industrial capacity and specialisation in producing innovative goods and services with high added value that can compete globally.
