Luanda, Jan. 14, 2025 (Lusa) - Angola and Equatorial Guinea signed three agreements on Tuesday in the areas of agriculture, livestock and forestry, language and administrative training for Equato-Guinean officials and technical aeronautical cooperation.
The protocols, signed at the Presidential Palace in Luanda as part of the state visit to Angola by the president of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema, are part of the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Luanda and Malabo.
The documents, which also include a joint communiqué in the context of this visit, were initialled in the presence of the two heads of state.
The Ecuadorian-Guinean President began a 48-hour state visit to Angola today and was received with military honours at the Cidade Alta Presidential Palace in the Angolan capital.
The bilateral relationship between Angola and Equatorial Guinea is marked by historical, cultural and economic ties, as well as common interests in the international African context, according to a statement from the Angolan Foreign Ministry.
By 2019, both countries, which belong to the Community of Portuguese Language Countries, had formalised ten cooperation agreements in strategic areas such as defence, education and training, trade and visa exemption.
