Italy's tax burden in relation to GDP rose to 40.5% in the third quarter of 2024, an increase of 0.8 of a percentage point with respect to the equivalent period the previous year, Istat said on Friday.
    Italy's deficit-to-GDP ratio, however, was 2.3% in the third quarter of 2024, a significant improvement on the deficit of 6.3% registered in the equivalent period in 2023, the national statistics agency said.
