Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stocks end 0.68% higher accompanying Europe

Lisbon, Dec. 3, 2024 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market ended Tuesday's session on a high, with the PSI index rising by 0.68% to 6,405.83 points, in line with the main European markets.

Of the 15 shares that currently make up the Lisbon stock market's main index, 10 rose and five fell. CTT led the gains and rose 4.27% to €4.64.

In the biggest declines, EDP Renováveis fell 2.22% to €10.56 and EDP lost 0.80% to €3.35.

REN fell 0.41% to €2.40, NOS dropped 0.29% to €3.41 and Corticeira Amorim fell 0.12% to €8.26.

Corticeira Amorim's shareholders approved on Monday the payment of a gross dividend of nine cents per share, as of 18 December, the company said in a statement to the market.

On the upside, Ibersol advanced 3.37% to €7.36, Semapa gained 2.21% to €13.90 and BCP, the only bank in the PSI, added 2.20% to €0.45.

Similarly, Jerónimo Martins rose 1.38% to €18.38, Navigator 1.29% to €3.45 and Altri 1.26% to €4.99.

Mota-Engil (€2.70), Galp (€16.50) and Sonae (€0.93) finished with gains of less than 1%.

On the main European stock exchanges, Madrid and Milan recorded the biggest rises, advancing 1.18% and 1.03% respectively, London rose 0.56% and Frankfurt 0.42%, with the Dax index surpassing 20,000 points for the first time.

The Paris stock exchange also closed in positive territory and advanced by 0.26%, despite the probable collapse of the French government without a budget for 2025.
