Lisbon, Oct. 29, 2024 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Tuesday, for the second day running, with the PSI index losing 0.27% to 6,438.64 points, penalised by the EDP group, which led the falls.
EDP fell 2.72% to €3.65 and EDP Renováveis dropped 2.55% to €12.62.
Today it was announced that, according to the indictment in the EDP/CMEC case, EDP benefited unduly from more than €840 million and the Public Prosecutor's Office said that it should be ordered to pay the Portuguese state "the value of the advantages" obtained.
Former EDP directors António Mexia and João Manso Neto were accused of corruption by the Public Prosecutor's Office in the EDP/CMEC (Costs for Maintaining Contractual Equilibrium) case.
The main European stock markets also closed down. Madrid was down 0.91%, London 0.80%, Paris 0.61%, Frankfurt 0.27% and Milan 0.26%.
