Lisbon, Aug. 5, 2024 (Lusa) - Greenvolt and Spectrum-R announced on Monday that they have signed an agreement with Himpunan Kawasan Industri Indonesia (HKI) to bring renewable energy to the country's businesses.

"Greenvolt Group, in partnership with Spectrum-R, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Himpunan Kawasan Industri Indonesia (HKI) to help Indonesian industry take concrete steps in the energy transition process," the company announced in a statement today.

As a result of this agreement, Emerging Solar Indonesia (ESI) will bring renewable energy, particularly solar energy, to companies.

According to the same press release, one of the main initiatives is the introduction of the Energy Community concept. In this way, companies can share solar energy with each other.

In order to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Indonesian industry, the country wants to promote solar energy solutions.

Every year, Indonesia's industrial CO2 emissions amount to 238 million tonnes.

"We have know-how in developing distributed renewable energy generation solutions in various geographies. We are excited to be able to bring this knowledge to Indonesia, enabling companies to benefit from solar energy," said Greenvolt's executive director for distributed renewable energy generation, Ricardo Mendes Ferreira, quoted in the statement.
