Lisbon, Sept. 28, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed in positive territory on Monday, with the PSI rising 0.08% to 9,712.35 points, buoyed by gains of over 1% for Galp Energia and Jerónimo Martins.

Of the 16 listed companies that make up the national benchmark index, six closed higher, nine lower and REN remained unchanged, trading at €3.57.

Two index heavyweights underpinned the performance of the PSI (Portuguese Stock Index): Galp Energia rose 1.87% to €22.92, whilst Jerónimo Martins gained 1.29% to €18.12.

Also posting gains of over 1% was the construction firm Teixeira Duarte, whose shares rose by 1.44% to €0.49.

Also closing the session with gains were Sonae SGPS, which rose 0.71% to €2.13, Corticeira Amorim, which gained 0.21% to €7.12, and Ibersol, which rose 0.40% to €10.04.

At the other end of the scale, EDP Renewables led the fallers, dropping 1.69% to €12.77, followed by NOS, which fell 1.19% to €5.39.

Among the heavyweights, EDP fell by 0.39% to €4.82, whilst BCP fell by 0.04% to €1.21.

In the pulp and paper sector, Semapa fell 0.72% to €20.60, Altri fell 0.21% to €4.72 and Navigator fell 0.18% to €3.25.

Mota-Engil fell by 0.57% to €5.25, whilst CTT slipped by 0.32% to €6.24.

In the other major European markets, Spain's IBEX-35 fell by 0.51%, Germany's DAX edged down by 0.13% and the UK's FTSE 100 lost 0.10%, whilst France's CAC-40 rose by 0.01%.
