Lisbon, Sept. 28, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market was trading slightly higher on Monday morning, with Galp and Sonae leading the gains, rising 1.20% to €22.70 and 1.18% to €2.13, respectively.
At around 9:40 a.m. in Lisbon, the PSI was up 0.11% to 9,715.00 points, with seven companies rising, another seven declining and two unchanged (Ibersol at €10 and NOS at €5.45).
Galp and Sonae shares were followed by those of Jerónimo Martins, REN and Corticeira Amorim, which rose by 0.84% to €18.04, 0.70% to €3.60 and 0.57% to €7.11.
The other two companies with rising share prices were EDP (up 0.17% to €4.85) and Altri (up 0.11% to €4.74).
Conversely, shares in Mota-Engil, EDP Renováveis and Semapa fell by 1.33% to €5.21, 0.62% to €12.91 and 0.48% to €20.65 respectively.
Teixeira Duarte shares fell by 0.21% to €0.49, while BCP and CTT fell by 0.08% to €1.21 and €6.25, respectively.
Navigator shares fell by 0.06% to €3.25.
In Europe, the main stock exchanges opened higher today, with investors keeping a close eye on rising oil prices and sovereign bond yields, with US 10-year yields above 5.2% and at their highest since June 2007.
The euro was slightly weaker against the dollar, falling by 0.08% and trading at $1.1382 on the Frankfurt foreign exchange market.
It was another day when movements in oil prices and sovereign bond yields drove equity market behaviour, after US President Donald Trump rejected Iran's latest proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
The price of the benchmark Brent crude oil contract in Europe rose by 2.51% to $106.94 per barrel.
Meanwhile, the yield on the 10-year US Treasury note continues to rise, reaching its highest level since June 2007 at 5.204%, whilst the yield on the 10-year German government bond rose to 3.624%, its highest since June 2009.
US index futures are down by 0.38% for the Dow Jones and 0.88% for the tech-heavy Nasdaq, after closing higher on Friday.
