Udinese on Thursday officially signed 34-year-old Austria defender David Alaba until June 30, 2027 after the Austria skipper was left a free agent by Real Madrid.
Alaba won dozens of trophies with Bayern Munich (2 Champions League titles, 2 Club World Cups, 2 UEFA Super Cups, 10 Bundesliga titles, 6 German Cups, and 5 German Super Cups), making 431 appearances and scoring 33 goals for the Bavarian club between 2010 and 2021.
During his time at Real Madrid (2021-2026), he added 2 Champions League titles, 1 Club World Cup, 1 UEFA Super Cup, 2 La Liga titles, 1 Copa del Rey, and 2 Spanish Super Cups to his tally.
He has served as captain and a key figure for the Austrian national team for over a decade (117 caps and 15 goals, including appearances at two European Championships and the most recent World Cup).

And I want to achieve something special once more. That is the mindset I'm bringing to Udinese.
"The coach has a clear idea of my role and what he wants us to achieve together. Naturally, I want to bring my experience to the dressing room, take on responsibility, and help out whenever possible—especially the younger players.
"I'm not just arriving to be the experienced veteran of the squad, and I certainly haven't come here to wind down my career," the player insisted.
"I'm still too ambitious for that, and I still strongly believe in what I can do on the pitch." Udinese are 13th in Serie A with four points from five games.
