Lusa - Business News - Portugal: EasyJet crews on strike 2-6 October, 19-23 December

Lisbon, Sept. 17, 2026 (Lusa) - EasyJet cabin crew today approved strike action between 2 and 6 October and from 19 to 23 December, an official company source told Lusa.

«EasyJet cabin crew voted today at a general meeting to go on strike on 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 October and on 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23 December», said the official source, noting that from 2 to 6 October, around 500 scheduled flights from the Porto, Lisbon and Faro bases are expected to be affected.

Minimum services will be «negotiated at a later date», the source added.

As for the days in December, the same source said that «it is not yet possible to know» the impact, but that «the number is expected to be considerably higher», as it is «the Christmas period, when the number of flights is always increased due to higher demand».

EasyJet's cabin crew held an emergency general meeting to analyse the employment situation and decide on measures, with the SNPVAC having previously acknowledged that «all options» were on the table.

On Tuesday, when contacted by Lusa, an official source from the leadership of the National Union of Civil Aviation Flight Crew (SNPVAC) stated that «the working conditions of easyJet cabin crew continue to deteriorate in Portugal».

«We have repeatedly alerted easyJet to this situation, which has changed little or not at all, with very negative consequences for crew members' rights,» they added.
