Lisbon, Aug. 21, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Friday, with the PSI index rising by 0.78% to 9,364.78 points, in line with the rest of Europe.
Of the 16 listed companies that make up the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Stock Index), 14 rose and two fell.
Leading the gains was Jerónimo Martins, which rose by 3.24% to €17.54.
Other notable gainers included Corticeira Amorim, which rose by a further 3.10% to €6.99; Semapa, which advanced by 1.97% to €20.70; CTT, which gained 1.26% to €6.41; Sonae SGPS, which also rose by 1.26% to €2.01; Navigator, which rose by 1.17% to €3.28; Mota-Engil, which rose by 1.12% to €4.52; and Ibersol, which rose by 1.11% to €9.99.
Gains of less than 1% were recorded by NOS (€4.87), Teixeira Duarte (€0.48), BCP (€1.10), Altri (€4.74), Galp (€21.93) and REN (€3.55).
Conversely, EDP fell by 0.65% to €4.62, whilst EDP Renewables fell by 0.59% to €13.47.
Elsewhere in Europe, Madrid rose by 0.76%, London by 0.64%, Frankfurt by 0.59% and Paris by 0.37%.
