Lisbon, Aug. 17, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Monday, with the PSI index falling by 0.38% to 9,219.73 points, in line with the downward trend across the rest of Europe.
Of the 16 listed companies that make up the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Stock Index), 13 fell, two rose and EDP Renewables remained unchanged at €13.59.
Leading the fall was Sonae SGPS, which fell by 1.58% to €1.99.
Other notable fallers included Jerónimo Martins, which fell by 1.57% to €16.94, Ibersol, which dropped by 1.53% to €9.66, and Mota-Engil, which lost 1.06% to €4.50.
REN (€3.51), Corticeira Amorim (€6.71), EDP (€4.52), Navigator (€3.21), Altri (€4.72), Semapa (€20.20), Teixeira Duarte (€0.49), NOS (€4.84) and CTT (€6.31) all finished with falls of less than 1%.
On the upside were Galp, which rose by 0.86% to €20.99, followed by BCP, which rose by 0.46% to €1.10.
Elsewhere in Europe, Madrid fell by 0.87%, Paris by 0.66%, Frankfurt by 0.38% and London by 0.28%.
