Lisbon, Aug. 12, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Wednesday, with the PSI index rising by 0.68% to 9,273.84 points, bucking the trend across the rest of Europe.
Of the 16 listed companies that make up the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Stock Index), 12 rose, two fell, and Galp and Corticeira Amorim remained unchanged at €20.55 and €6.81 respectively.
Leading the gains was Teixeira Duarte, which rose by 3.03% to €0.49.
Among the main gainers were also EDP Renewables, which rose by 2.66% to €13.87, REN, which rose by 1.85% to €3.58, Mota-Engil, which gained 1.47% to €4.57, and EDP, which rose by 1.06% to €4.57.
Rises of less than 1% were seen in Jerónimo Martins (€17.21), Semapa (€20.25), CTT (€6.38), Navigator (€3.25), NOS (€4.80), Sonae SGPS (€2.02) and Altri (€4.77).
At the other end of the scale, BCP led the fallers, dropping 0.50% to €1.09, followed by Ibersol, which fell 0.30% to €9.85.
Elsewhere in Europe, Paris fell by 0.46%, Frankfurt by 0.23%, London by 0.10% and Madrid by 0.05%.
