Lisbon, Aug. 11, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Tuesday, with the PSI index rising by 0.61% to 9,210.84 points, against a European backdrop showing no clear trend.

Of the 16 listed companies that make up the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Stock Index), 12 rose, two fell, and Semapa and BCP remained unchanged at €20.15 and €1.10 respectively.

Leading the gains was EDP Renewables, which rose by 2.19% to €13.51.

Other major gainers included Galp, which rose by a further 1.83% to €20.55, EDP, which rose by 1.25% to €4.52, and Corticeira Amorim, which rose by 1.04% to €6.81.

Rises of less than 1% were seen in Teixeira Duarte (€0.48), CTT (€6.34), Mota-Engil (€4.50), NOS (€4.79), Ibersol (€9.88), REN (€3.51), Sonae SGPS (€2.02) and Altri (€4.76).

At the other end of the scale, leading the fallers was Jerónimo Martins, which dropped 1.15% to €17.12, followed by Navigator, which fell 0.37% to €3.24.

Elsewhere in Europe, Frankfurt rose by 0.26% and Madrid by 0.20%, whilst London fell by 0.17% and Paris by 0.13%.
