Lisbon, Aug. 7, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market was trading lower today, with 13 of the 16 companies seeing their share prices fall, led by EDP Renováveis and EDP, which were down 1.64% to €13.20 and 1.41% to €4.46, respectively.
At around 09:30 in Lisbon, the PSI was down 0.73% to 9,157.21 points, with 13 companies falling, two rising (Jerónimo Martins, up 0.40% to €13.20, and Corticeira Amorim, up 0.15% to €6.67) and one remaining unchanged (Semapa at €20.20).
The EDP ‘group' shares were followed by those of REN and Sonae, which both fell by 0.98% to €3.52 and €2.03 respectively, as well as Ibersol, which fell by 0.92% to €9.69.
BCP and NOS fell by 0.77% to €1.09 and by 0.73% to €4.86.
Teixeira Duarte, Galp and Mota-Engil also fell, by 0.61% to €0.49, 0.58% to €19.81 and 0.44% to €4.52, respectively.
The other three companies to see their share prices fall were CTT (-0.40% to €6.26), Altri (-0.21% to €4.74) and Navigator (-0.12% to €3.26).
European stock markets are continuing to trend upwards today, despite a further rise in oil prices, after Tehran announced plans to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which include the collection of «transit fees».
The euro was stable, down 0.03% against the dollar and trading at €1.1521 on the Frankfurt foreign exchange market.
The price of the benchmark Brent crude oil contract in Europe rose by 0.92% to $83.25.
According to the Fars news agency, Iran plans to control the entry and exit of ships in the Persian Gulf, in conjunction with Oman, and both countries will levy «transit fees» in the Strait of Hormuz.
Across the Atlantic, Dow Jones and Nasdaq futures are mixed, with the former down 0.07% and the latter up 0.33%.
Today, the market is awaiting the official US employment report for July, which, according to experts at Renta4 quoted by Efe, will be «crucial for gauging the US Federal Reserve's (Fed) next steps».
