Lisbon, July 3, 2026 (Lusa) - The main Portuguese stock market index, the PSI, remained in positive territory on Friday, rising by 0.66% after an hour and a half of trading, with seven shares gaining more than 1%.
At around 9:30 a.m. in Lisbon, the PSI was maintaining its opening trend and was up 0.66% to 9,260.98 points.
Teixeira Duarte led the gains, rising 1.90% to €0.54 per share, followed by EDP, which rose 1.82% to €4.64, and EDP Renewables, which rose 1.71%.
Also in the energy sector, Galp was up 1.47% and REN 1.21%, trading at €18.99 and €3.77 respectively.
Also up by more than 1.00% were Altri (up 1.17% to €4.77) and Mota-Engil (up 1.01% to €4.78).
BCP was up 0.76% to €1.07, and Navigator was up 0.61% to €3.27.
Posting smaller gains were Ibersol (up 0.41% to €9.85), CTT (up 0.33% to €6.13) and Corticeira Amorim (up 0.31% to €6.57).
Conversely, Jerónimo Martins led the declines, falling 1.96% to €16.50.
Also experiencing modest adjustments were Sonae (0.96% to €2.06), Semapa (0.48% to €20.70) and NOS (0.10% to €5.02).
The PSI was thus following the lead of the main European stock markets, which continued to post gains and maintained the previous day’s trend.
Today, investors are awaiting the release of the composite PMIs for the eurozone, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the UK.
Wall Street, which closed with mixed results the previous day – the Dow Jones rose by 1.14%, the Nasdaq fell by 0.80%, and the S&P 500 remained unchanged – is not trading today due to an early close ahead of US Independence Day.
Oil prices rose by 0.52% to $72.15 per barrel of Brent and by 0.33% to $68.95 per barrel of WTI, whilst TTF natural gas rose by 0.23% to 44.11 megawatt-hours.
Gold rose by 1.47% to $4,186.8, and bitcoin rose by 0.24% to $61,667.1.
