Lisbon, July 2, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Thursday, with the PSI rising 1.20% to 9,199.84 points, led by Sonae SGPS, which gained more than 3%, whilst EDP Renováveis bucked the trend.
Of the 16 listed companies that make up the national benchmark index, only EDP Renováveis closed below the previous session, falling 1.06% to €14.06.
Leading the PSI’s gains was Sonae SGPS, which rose 3.23% to €2.08, followed by NOS, which advanced 2.76% to €5.03.
Among the ‘heavyweights’ of the national benchmark index, BCP rose by 1.39% to €1.06, EDP gained 1.09% to €4.55, Galp Energia rose by 0.54% to €18.72, and Jerónimo Martins rose by 0.72% to €16.83.
In addition to Sonae SGPS and NOS, which posted gains of over 2%, Semapa rose by 2.72% to €20.80, CTT gained 2.52% to €6.11, Corticeira Amorim advanced by 2.34% to €6.55, whilst Mota-Engil rose by 2.25% to 4.73 euros.
Meanwhile, alongside BCP and EDP, other shares with gains of over 1% included Navigator, which rose by 1.75% to €3.25, and Teixeira Duarte, which advanced by 1.35% to 53 cents.
In the other major European markets, the German DAX rose by 2.16%, the British FTSE 100 by 1.67%, the French CAC 40 by 1.65%, and the Spanish IBEX 35 by 1.37%.
