Lisbon, June 23, 2026 (Lusa) - The PSI, the benchmark index of the Lisbon stock market, was maintaining its opening trend and continuing to fall on Tuesday morning, in line with developments on the main European markets, with Teixeira Duarte standing out with a loss of 2.46%.
At around 9.15 am, 14 of the 16 listed companies were trading in negative territory, led by Teixeira Duarte, which fell by 2.46% to €0.51 per share.
The construction firm was followed by EDP Renewables, which fell by 1.72% to €13.73, Semapa, which fell by 1.59% to €21.7, Mota-Engil, which fell by 1.53% to €4.64, and Millennium BCP, which fell by 1.38% to €1.03 per share.
Also down were EDP (-1.21% to €4.40), Corticeira Amorim (-0.92% to €6.44), Sonae (-0.80% to €1.98) and Galp (-0.64% to €18.49).
Also down were Altri, which fell by 0.61% to €4.93, Ibersol, which fell by 0.59% to €10.04, and CTT, which fell by 0.50% to €5.93.
Navigator (-0.46% to €3.43) and REN (-0.14% to €3.64) saw changes of less than 0.5%.
Conversely, Jerónimo Martins, which rose by 0.93% to €17.38, was on a par with Nos, which gained 0.29% to €5.22, the only shares in positive territory.
The PSI’s performance was in line with that seen across the rest of Europe, following largely negative performances in Asian and United States indices.
Markets remain focused on the negotiations between Iran and the United States and on the fall in oil prices.
Despite progress in the negotiations, Wall Street closed with losses on the Nasdaq (-1.33%) and the S&P 500 (-0.37%). The Dow Jones recorded a small gain of +0.29%.
In Asia, Seoul’s main index, the Kospi, fell by 9.99% – trading was even temporarily suspended – whilst Japan’s Nikkei fell by 3.55%.
In addition to the negotiations, Washington has issued a general licence authorising the sale of Iranian crude for 60 days.
Against this backdrop, the price of a barrel of Brent crude, the benchmark for Europe, continues to fall today, dropping by 1.4% to below $77.
The euro is trading at 1.143 US$ and gold is down 1.69% to $4,120 an ounce. Meanwhile, bitcoin is down 1.60% to $63,371.
