Lisbon, June 22, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market maintained its positive trend from the opening on Monday, rising by 0.10%, driven by energy companies and Teixeira Duarte, with six shares up, nine down and one unchanged.
At 09:40 in Lisbon, the PSI, Portugal’s main index, was up 0.10% at 9,111.79 points, having closed on Friday up 0.69% at 9,102.60 points.
Leading the gains was Teixeira Duarte, which rose 2.62% to €0.51, followed by EDP, which rose 1.04% to €4.45, and Galp Energia, which rose 0.92% to €18.69.
Meanwhile, the subsidiary EDP Renováveis rose by 0.66% to €13.76, whilst Mota-Engil gained 0.56% to €4.68 and BCP rose by 0.14% to €1.04.
Conversely, CTT shares saw the sharpest fall (down 1.41% to €5.93), followed by Semapa (down 1.13% to €21.09), NOS (down 0.96% to €5.18) and Navigator (down 0.63% to €3.46).
Altri remained unchanged at €4.97.
European stock markets opened mixed, as attention is focused on negotiations between the United States and Iran in Switzerland.
In commodities, Brent crude fell by 1.73% to $79.19 per barrel, whilst West Texas Intermediate (WTI), the US benchmark, dropped by 0.54% to $75.44.
In the foreign exchange markets, the dollar remained stable against the euro (+0.09%), trading at $1.1460 per euro.
The price of gold rose by 1.02% to $4,198.11 per ounce.
In the United States, Wall Street remained closed last Friday due to a public holiday. Trading will resume today, and futures for the main indices point to slight falls.
With no major macroeconomic data releases expected today, the market will be focused on negotiations between the United States and Iran aimed at reaching a definitive peace agreement.
In Asia, the Nikkei index in Tokyo closed up 1.55% today, reaching new all-time highs for the third consecutive day.
The Shanghai Stock Exchange also rose by 1.78%, whilst the Hong Kong Stock Exchange fell by 0.28%.
