Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stocks close lower with Mota-Engil losing more than 2%

Lisbon, June 18, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed 0.55% lower on Thursday at 9,040.40 points, on a day of mixed trading across Europe, with Mota-Engil falling by more than 2%.

Of the 16 listed companies that make up the PSI index, 12 fell, and two rose, with BCP and Ibersol closing unchanged at €1.03 and €10.30, respectively.

Mota-Engil led the losses, falling 2.38% to €4.60, followed by Jerónimo Martins, which fell 1.64% to €17.39.

Semapa (down 1.34% to €22.1), Galp (down 1.21% to €18.32) and Teixeira Duarte (down 1.04% to €0.47) all closed with falls of more than 1%.

Also in the red today were Sonae (down 0.71% to €1.96), Altri (down 0.60% to €4.97), Navigator (down 0.46% to €3.48), Corticeira Amorim (down 0.45% to €6.58), REN (down 0.42% to €3.53), NOS (down 0.38% to €5.20) and EDP (down 0.27% to €4.39).

The only shares to close higher were EDP Renováveis, which rose by 0.15% to €13.52, and CTT, which rose by 0.08% to €6.01.

The main European stock markets closed mixed today, with London and Madrid falling by 1.08% and 0.09% respectively. Meanwhile, Paris, Frankfurt, and Milan rose by 0.44%, 0.37%, and 0.18%, respectively.
