Lusa - Business News - Angola: Record 51 producers in largest ever Portuguese Wine fest in Luanda

Luanda, June 17, 2026 (Lusa) — Luanda will host the Vinhos de Portugal Festival, on Thursday, with a record 51 producers taking part in the largest event promoting Portuguese wines in Angola.

Organised by ViniPortugal as part of the internationalisation plan for the Vinhos de Portugal brand, the event brings together producers and industry professionals, importers, distributors, the specialist press and Angolan consumers to showcase the diversity of the country’s wines.

The more than 50 producers in attendance represent various wine-producing regions across the country, offering a wide selection of wines that reflect the richness, authenticity and diversity of Portugal’s wine heritage, according to the organisers.

The programme includes an exclusive tasting for professionals — importers, distributors, sommeliers and operators in the Horeca sector (hotels, restaurants and cafés) — and a session open to the public between 6.00 pm and 9.00 pm, for wine enthusiasts keen to explore and taste Portuguese wines.

The festival also features a gastronomic experience in the form of a show cooking demonstration, led by chefs Helt Araújo and Elisabeth Martins, exploring pairings between Angolan cuisine and Portuguese wines and reinforcing the link between tradition, innovation and culture.

ViniPortugal is the inter-professional association for the Portuguese wine sector, responsible for promoting Portuguese wines and spirits in international markets under the ‘Vinhos de Portugal’ brand.

Angola is the main destination market for Portuguese wine exports in Africa.
