Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes higher on a mixed day across European markets

Lisbon, May 19, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Tuesday, with the PSI (Portuguese Stock Index) rising 0.19% to 9,160.30 points, on a day of mixed trading across the main European markets.

Of the 16 listed companies that make up the national benchmark index, nine rose, six fell and one, Semapa, remained unchanged at €22.75.

Leading the gains was REN, which rose 1.84% to €3.60, followed by Nos, which gained 1.40% to €5.42, and Altri, which rose 0.98% to €5.14.

Also worth noting is Jerónimo Martins, which rose 0.91% to €18.93, and EDP, which gained 0.32% to €4.39.

On the downside, Mota-Engil fell 1.66% to €4.85, whilst Galp Energia lost 1.11% to €19.95 and Teixeira Duarte retreated 0.83% to €0.42.

Meanwhile, EDP subsidiary EDP Renováveis fell 0.58% to €13.75.

In the other major European markets, Germany’s DAX rose 0.38%, and the UK’s FTSE 100 gained 0.07%.

Meanwhile, Spain’s IBEX-35 fell 0.48%, and France’s CAC-40 dropped 0.07%. MES/MYAL // ADB.
