APS - AAPI to launch digital single window, Rekkache says

ALGIERS – The Director General of the Algerian Agency for Investment Promotion (AAPI), Omar Rekkache, announced Monday in Algiers that his agency is working toward the launch of a "digital single window," a move designed to extend digitalization across all investment-related procedures, offering investors a pathway that is "clear, fast and secure."

Speaking at the opening of an information day on enhancing single window efficiency, an event launched by Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb, Rakkache said that the agency "has begun implementing an action plan" to extend digitalization across all investment-related procedures, with ambitions set firmly on delivering the digital single window, a project being carried out under the oversight of the High Commission for Digitalization.

In this regard, the official affirmed that the digital single window will provide investors with a smoother, clearer and more efficient procedural experience.

He underlined that the Prime Minister's presence at the launch of this information day reflects "the priority that investment reform holds within the government's agenda," as part of the implementation of the vision of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to foster an investment climate that is "safe and attractive, built on strengthening the confidence of economic operators and positioning the productive enterprise as a driver of growth, wealth creation and job generation."

The Agency's Director General further affirmed that activating the single window and empowering administrative representatives to issue all licenses from a single location constitutes "a concrete expression of the political will to reform the investment climate and put an end to bureaucracy and administrative complexities."

In this respect, he said that the Agency will continue to work in coordination with all stakeholders within the investment ecosystem, and in consultation with the employers’ organizations, most notably the Algerian Economic Renewal Council, to implement the new single window provisions, with a view to establishing it as "the investor's primary point of contact" and the single space where all investment-related procedures are completed.

He also highlighted the existence of an "ambitious program" aimed at "improving the quality of services provided to investors, addressing their concerns and accompanying them in the field until the actual execution of their projects."
