ATA - Radio station ‘Jehona e Shqipes’ marks 40 years in Brussels: Hoxha describes it as a voice of Albanian identity in Europe’s heart

TIRANA, May 11 /ATA/ Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, participated in the event organized in Brussels on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of radio station ‘Jehona e Shqipes,’ which he praised as a voice that has kept the Albanian language, culture, and spirit alive in the heart of Europe.

In a social media post, minister Hoxha thanked founder Sakip Skepi and the radio team, noting that their passion and dedication have allowed the Albanian language to echo far from home, strengthening the bonds of the Albanian community in Belgium and beyond.

“‘For four decades, “Jehona e Shqipes” has been more than just a radio station: it has served as a bridge of unity, a hub of memory, a voice of identity, and a window of communication for thousands of Albanians,’ Hoxha stated.

He emphasized that the Albanian diaspora remains an important factor in preserving national identity and promoting Albanian values in Europe, describing it as a ‘homeland outside the homeland.’

According to the minister, the diaspora is not only part of Albania’s history but also an active partner in the country’s European journey.

‘Wherever the Albanian language is preserved and nurtured, Albanian identity lives on,’ Hoxha emphasized in his message.
