Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market follows European trend, closes higher on Thursday

Lisbon, April 30, 2026 (Lusa) – The Lisbon stock market closed higher Thursday, rising 1.47% to 9,344.96 points, following the European trend with almost all companies in the green. Among the 16 companies in the PSI (Portuguese Stock Index), 15 closed higher, and Galp remained unchanged at €19.96.

Ibersol led the gains, rising 4.35% to €12, while EDP Renováveis and EDP rose 2.46% to €14.18 and 2.20% to €4.46, respectively. Companies rising more than 1% included BCP (1.95% to €0.91), REN (1.62% to €3.78), Semapa (1.53% to €23.20), NOS (1.35% to €5.62), Jerónimo Martins (1.29% to €20.46), Sonae (1.14% to €1.95) and Mota-Engil (1.09% to €4.82). Corticeira Amorim (0.94% to €6.42), Navigator (0.90% to €3.35), CTT (0.55% to €6.41), Altri (0.50% to €4.99) and Teixeira Duarte (0.45% to €0.45) closed with more modest gains. CTT announced in a statement that its general meeting on Thursday elected Guy Pacheco as CEO, replacing Joao Bento for the 2026-2028 term.

The main European bourses closed in positive territory, led by London, which climbed 1.62%. Paris rose 0.53%, Frankfurt 1.41%, Madrid 0.78% and Milan 0.94%.
