NNA - The Ministry of Culture announced in a statement, that "The "Culture Brings Us Together" initiative builds on the continuation of the "Our Library Brings Us Together" project, which was launched by the Ministry at the beginning of the war. This project contributed to providing safe spaces for gathering, expression, and recreation within public libraries and cultural reading and activity centers across various regions of Lebanon. It stems from the belief that what unites the Lebanese people is greater than what divides them, and that investing in culture is an investment in people, in society, and in their capacity to recover and rebuild.
In response to the growing need to expand such initiatives in order to strengthen social cohesion and cultural exchange during times of crisis, the Ministry developed the "Culture Brings Us Together" to include additional cultural institutions and new spaces beyond libraries, alongside launching more diverse activities. This aims to reach broader segments of society and to reinforce culture as a fundamental pillar of daily life.
In this context, the Ministry collaborates with a number of local community organizations, as well as actors in the cultural and creative sectors, in addition to those managing public libraries, reading and cultural activity centers, and other cultural spaces in Lebanon, to ensure the effective organization of these activities and to expand their impact.
The activities include reading and discussing stories and books, puppet theater, circus performances for children, art therapy sessions, educational support, film screenings, craft activities, and raising awareness about Lebanon’s cultural heritage.
The schedule of activities will be published progressively on the Ministry of Culture’s social media pages, allowing the public to stay informed and participate.
The Ministry of Culture invites the public to follow the latest activities and updates on its Instagram accounts: @ministryofculture.initiatives and @lebanese.ministry.of.culture."
