Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes down burdened by construction firms

Lisbon, April 20, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Monday, with the PSI (Portuguese Stock Index) falling 0.08% to 9,177.59 points, weighed down by construction firms, in line with the rest of Europe. Of the 16 listed companies included in the PSI, 11 fell and five rose.

Leading the falls was Teixeira Duarte, which dropped 3.59% to €0.43, followed by Mota-Engil, which fell 3.23% to €4.88.

Among the main fallers were BCP, down 1.51% to €0.89, CTT, which dropped 1.36% to €6.51, and Sonae SGPS, down 1.01% to €1.96.

Falling by less than 1% were Altri (€4.86), Corticeira Amorim (€6.60), Jerónimo Martins (€21.14), EDP Renováveis (€13.33), Semapa (€22.45) and Navigator (€3.38).

In the opposite direction, leading the gains was Ibersol, which rose 3.17% to €12.38.

Also notable were Galp, which rose 2.33% to €18.91, and REN, which gained 1.35% to €3.76. NOS (€5.59) and EDP (€4.43) recorded gains of less than 1%.

Elsewhere in Europe, Madrid fell by 1.21%, Frankfurt by 1.15%, Paris by 1.12% and London by 0.55%.
