Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market flat after 90 minutes' trading on Monday

Lisbon, April 20, 2026 (Lusa) – The Lisbon stock market was trading almost unchanged on Monday morning, 90 minutes after the opening bell, rising 0.03% as initial gains in energy companies offset other stocks.

By 9:35 a.m. in Lisbon, the PSI (Portuguese Stock Index) was up 0.03% to 9,187.61 points, bucking the trend in the rest of Europe with 10 companies down and six up.

Ibersol led the rises, gaining 4.17% to €12.50. Despite the percentage gain, only about 4,300 shares had been traded since the session opened.

Besides Ibersol, energy companies were performing well: Galp was up 2.49% to €18.93, REN grew 1.08% to €3.74, EDP rose 0.75% to €4.45 and EDP Renováveis increased 0.30% to €13.40.

NOS was also in the green, up 0.54% to €5.57 per share.

Conversely, construction companies Teixeira Duarte and Mota-Engil saw their prices falling 2.91% and 2.87% to €0.43 and €4.90 respectively.

CTT was down 1.67% to €6.49, BCP fell 1.37% to €0.89 and Altri dropped 0.82% to €4.86.

Semapa’s share price fell 0.44% to €22.40, Jerónimo Martins fell 0.38% to €21.16 and Corticeira Amorim dropped 0.30% to €6.63.

The Navigator (-0.24% to €3.37) and Sonae (-0.10% to €1.98) saw more modest losses.

European bourses started the week with falls of over 1% as the ceasefire in Iran nears its end and Brent crude rose more than 4% with the Strait of Hormuz closed.

Brent crude for June delivery, the European benchmark, traded at $94.62, up 4.7% from the closing price, while TTF natural gas prices rose 3.3% to €40.97 per megawatt-hour.

On the currency markets, the euro remained stable, losing 0.03% to trade at $1.176. Bitcoin rose 0.19% to $74,804.60.

Gold fell 1.36% to $4,812.90 an ounce and silver dropped 2.5% to $79.81.
