Lisbon, April 14, 2026 (Lusa) – The Lisbon stock market is trading higher on Tuesday morning, with constructor, Teixeira Duarte leading the gains rising 2.67% to €0.44. The benchmark PSI (Portuguese Stock Index) was keeping its opening trend around 9.45 a.m in Lisbon, gaining 0.15% to 9,373.14 points. This follows last Thursday's finish at 9,484.93 points, a new high since June 2008. Eleven of the 16 companies in the PSI are rising, while five are down on Tuesday.
CTT, EDP Renováveis, and BCP followed the construction company’s lead, gaining 1.44% to €6.69, 1.14% to €14.21, and 1.04% to €0.90, respectively. Mota-Engil, Semapa, and Altri were also higher, by 1% to €4.85, 0.89% to €22.55, and 0.72% to €4.86.
Corticeira Amorim and Navigator were rising 0.60% to €6.67 and 0.36% to €3.37.
Jerónimo Martins (up 0.28% to €21.16) and NOS (up 0.27% to €5.49) rounded out the gaining stocks.
Conversely, Sonae was down 1.47% to €2.01, while REN and Galp were falling 0.78% to €3.80 and 0.66% to €19.42.
Ibersol and EDP were off 0.36% to €11.20 and 0.06% to €4.69.
The main European markets opened higher on Tuesday due to a moderate fall in oil prices and optimism regarding potential renewed negotiations between Washington and Tehran. The euro is stronger, rising 0.23% to US$1.1786 on the Frankfurt currency market, compared to US$1.1759 dollars on Monday.
US President Donald Trump stated on Monday that Iran had contacted Washington for a new round of talks following last weekend's inconclusive meeting.
These remarks rekindled hopes for a possible agreement.
Dow Jones and Nasdaq technology futures currently point to gains of 0.13% and 0.34%, respectively.
Brent crude, the European benchmark for June delivery, is down 1.23% to US$98.24. Natural gas for May delivery on the Dutch TTF market is also down, by 0.22% to €45.51 per megawatt-hour (MWh).
In precious metals, gold rose 0.83% to US$4,779.92 an ounce, while silver gained 2.77% to reach US$77.7050.
